Entries close Friday 19 February for the 2021 Litchfield Council Art Exhibition to be held on the weekend of 7 & 8 March.
Artwork doesn't need to be submitted until Wednesday 3 March, but entries must be in now!
In 2020, we saw a variety of art from over 40 local artists across Litchfield.

Council is developing a Litchfield Sport, Recreation and Open Space Strategy to effectively plan facilities to cater for community needs.
You can have your say on the draft Strategy with consultation closing on Thursday 18 February 2021.

On Monday 25 January 2021, Litchfield Council Mayor Maree Bredhauer and Councillors Deputy Mayor Christine Simpson, Doug Barden, Mathew Salter and Kirsty Sayers-Hunt unveiled the new entrance sign to the Litchfield Municipality.

Minister for Local Government, Hon. Chanston Paech has announced changes to the Litchfield Council area that will commence at the August 2021 election.

Council has engaged a consultant to develop a five-year Weed Management Plan.
Territory Environment Consultants will be conducting weed surveys around the municipality along road verges and Council owned property.

Entries are now open, and we are calling for local artists to submit pieces for the 2021 Litchfield Council Art Exhibition to be held in March 2021 at Council’s Howard Park Recreation Reserve.

The Litchfield Council Community Survey is conducted annually to hear from people living in the Litchfield Municipality.
Responses to this survey provide Council with information to better understand the community's satisfaction in how Council manages services and facilities.
The Community Survey is one method Council uses in future planning for the municipality.

Litchfield Council is undertaking pavement reconstruction in the Wadham Lagoon area on Whitewood Road in Howard Springs.
A temporary road closure is currently in place allowing access to the section of Whitewood Road only to local traffic.
An extension of the road closure has been advised and it is anticipated that the road will reopen 1 September 2020, with works being completed shortly after.

Prudently managing Council’s financial resources and supporting the community through the current economic climate was the focus in the development of the Municipal Plan and Budget 2020-21 that was endorsed at the Special Council Meeting on Wednesday 29 July 2020.

Whitewood Road will be closed to traffic from Monday 27 July for a period of approximately 27 days for the reconstruction of the road pavement near Wadham Lagoon.

Council has approved NT Election candidates to place their signs on Council owned land, such as road reserves in accordance with the NT Government and Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics policies below.
