This year, Anti-Poverty Week begins on Sunday 16 October and finishes on Saturday 22 October.  It coincides every year with the UN Internation Day to Eradicate Poverty on 17 October.

The main aims of Anti-Poverty Week in Australia are to:

  • Strengthen public understanding of the causes and consequences of poverty and hardship; and
  • Encourage research, discussion and action to address these problems, including action by indiviauls, communities, organisations and governments.
