The Taminmin Community Library is a highly valued local library for Humpty Doo, however, two studies that have been conducted over the past few years have identified that the public library service isn’t meeting the needs of all Litchfield residents.
Council resolved at its July 2018 meeting to take on the operation of public library services at Taminmin Community Library after the completion of existing works to be undertaken. These pre-arranged works will progress the seamless transfer of the library to Council which is expected to take place on 1 January 2019.
The NT Government is funding Council through a five-year funding agreement with Northern Territory Library.
Taminmin Community Library will continue to operate the way it is, with a focus on improving programs, updating the library collection and public awareness of the library service over the next 12 months.
