About Council Meetings

Important COVID-19 information: please do not attend meetings if you are feeling unwell.

Council meetings lead and guide the good governance of the Municipality and provide a forum for Councillors to discuss various Council issues. Council conducts its formal decision making process through Ordinary Council Meetings and Special Council meetings when required.

Council Meetings are open to the public. Three of the five Council members need to be present at a meeting for decisions to be made.

Council Meetings commence at 6.30pm and are held at the Litchfield Council Chambers, 7 Bees Creek Road, Freds Pass on the third Wednesday of every month (unless otherwise stated) and with the exception of the December meeting, which is held on the second Wednesday of the month.

The agenda is available three days prior to the meeting at the Council Offices and on the website. Copies can also be distributed to the public at the meeting.

Public Participation

Members of the public may participate by asking a question at a Council Meeting.

Members of the public are encouraged to submit their questions at least 5 days prior to the meeting. This will allow Council to provide a response at the Council Meeting.

Public Question Form

If a paper is to be considered by Council it needs to be with the Chief Executive Officer ten business days prior the Council meeting.
