New Australian Citizens Welcomed in Litchfield

Litchfield Council has proudly welcomed 13 new Australian citizens during a special Citizenship Ceremony held recently.

The ceremony recognised candidates from eight different countries (Canada, New Zealand, China, UK, Vietnam, Zimbabwe, Cambodia and Indonesia), marking an important milestone in their journey to becoming Australian citizens and celebrating the rich cultural diversity that strengthens the Litchfield community.

Litchfield Council Releases Draft Municipal Plan for Community Feedback

Litchfield Council is calling on residents to have their say on the Draft Municipal Plan 2026–2027 including the Long-Term Financial Plan 2026-2036, now open for public consultation.

The draft plans outline Council’s priorities, services and budget for the coming year, along with a 10-year financial roadmap to support sustainable growth across the municipality.
 

Speed Limit Change - Thorngate Road, Holtze

Council has made the decision to reduce the speed on Thorngate Road from 80km/hr to 60km/hr until substantial and extensive repairs can be completed to the road. 

More investment for Litchfield's Roads

The Albanese Government continues to deliver critical road upgrades for communities in Lingiari under the Safer Local Roads and Infrastructure Program (SLRIP).

$1,280,000 million will help fund the upgrade a section of the Thorngate Road in the Holtze area which lies in the Litchfield Council local government area. 
 

Youth Week 2026: Free activities for young people across Litchfield

Litchfield Council is excited to deliver a packed program of free activities for young people as part of Youth Week 2026, running from 2 to 12 April.

With a wide range of events designed for ages 8 to 17, this year’s program offers something for everyone. From creative workshops and sports to gaming, fitness and social events.
