4 April 2014

Work is progressing well on the Beef Processing Facility at Livingstone Valley. Local residents will notice a great deal of activity, with road works on the Stuart Highway and buildings clearly visible from the main road.

Construction

The continuing fine weather means construction remains on target for commissioning of the plant to begin in September. The building program is well advanced. The major elements still to be completed are the processing and slaughter room floors. The major focus now is the arrival, installation and commissioning of plant and equipment, internal fit-out of buildings and construction of the stock yards.

The upgrade to the Stuart Highway is expected to be completed by the end of April while the upgraded railway crossing will be complete by around mid May.

Internal access roads and landscaping will also take place as construction progresses.

Community Reference Group

The Community Reference Group has been meeting monthly and is a great source of information flow between AACo and the community. Members are able to hear about progress on construction as well as raise questions they have received from other members of the community.
