Council is completing a study to understand future community needs for aquatic facilities in the Litchfield municipality. This will update and build upon previous work completed by Council and the Northern Territory Government.
Thank you to everyone who attended one of the community forums held on 4 October 2016. These forums allowed Council to share information about the study, and provided an opportunity for local residents and organisations to share their ideas about what Council needs to know to understand community needs for aquatic facilities. FAQ
What is the Aquatic Facility Study?
The Study will identify future community needs for aquatic facilities in the Litchfield area. The study will build upon previous work completed by Council and the Northern Territory Government. It will also examine current and future population projections, aquatic leisure participation and facility development trends. The study will consider existing or proposed aquatic leisure facilities and opportunities in the region, including opportunities for Council to partner with other agencies and organisations, funding opportunities and models.
The Study will also involve consultation and engagement with stakeholders.
