The NT Planning Commission has recently prepared a draft Area Plan for the Howard Springs Rural Activity Centre and is in the process of preparing a draft plan for the Coolalinga Rural Activity Centre. The Commission intends to soon commence a similar process for the Humpty Doo Rural Activity Centre. Community involvement has occurred for both Howard Springs and Coolalinga draft Area Plans and in both cases, Litchfield Council sought nominations from the community to be part of a small Community Advisory Group that would assist the Planning Commission with the development of the draft Area Plans.

With the planning process set to commence in October for the Humpty Doo Rural Activity Centre, Litchfield Council are now seeking expressions of interest from community members interested in sitting on the Planning Commission’s Community Advisory Group. Community members would need to be a resident in the Litchfield municipality and be able to provide balanced comment on aspects of the Humpty Doo region that will be important to the community into the future. Attendance at between four and six community information sessions and workshops is expected for advisory group members and it is anticipated that they will be held locally and out of work hours, with participation likely extending into early 2018.

If you would like to be part of the Community Advisory Group to provide input to the draft area plan and be involved in community consultation please contact Litchfield Council by email at council@litchfield.nt.gov.au or by calling 8983 0600.

Nominations will need to include name, address, phone number and your reason for nominating.

Nominations close Sunday 20 August.
