The Bureau of Meteorology has cancelled the cyclone warning for the Darwin area.

Significant damage has occurred throughout the Litchfield Municipality from Cyclone Marcus.

Residents should avoid travelling on roads and stay at home.

Powerlines are down on roads and trees are across roads, making some roads unsafe to travel.

Council has commenced surveying its roads and assessing the damage to undertake works. Immediate works will focus on road safety.

Council facilities; Waste Transfer Stations, Thorak Cemetery and Recreational Reserves remain closed until Council receives notice from Emergency Services.
