The NT Fire Services has advised Council to close the Howard Springs Transfer Station immediately due to the threat of a large fire in the area.
NT Fire Services are conducting a backburn of the fire and this is expected to continue over the next few of hours.
Council will reopen the Transfer Station when NT Fire Services has given the all clear to do so.
