**Update on the recent closure of various play equipment due to an independent auditor identifying three free standing slides urgently require soft fall to meet Australian Standards for playgrounds**

Council has engaged a Play Equipment Contractor, who has been onsite late November to provide Council with a quote for the installation of soft fall to the three playground equipment areas that are currently closed. From the onsite assessment the Contractor has advised that excavation works are required, to a depth of 200mm before the soft fall can be installed.

Due to the location of large trees near the play equipment areas where the excavation will occur, Council has now asked an arborist to check the trees to assess the potential impact, if any, on the trees before an excavation works take place.

Council is waiting to hear back from the arborist and will keep the community updated.

In the meantime, the play equipment affected, remains closed.
