An arborist has prepared a report stating, the excavation works needed to install soft fall to the two small free standing slides will compromise the trees near the playground.
Due to these trees being healthy and providing shade to a large part of the playground, and, to comply with Australian Standards for playgrounds, Council has decided to remove the two small free standing slides.
Works will be immediate, taking place Saturday 15 December, prior to the Village Green opening.
The remaining piece of playground equipment will remain closed.
The temporary fencing will remain until the top soil has compacted.
Council will be investigating options for the remaining piece of playground equipment and the replacement of the removed equipment.
