In response to COVID-19, Council would like to advise the community of the following changes that have been put in place:

Taminmin Community Library is now closed until further notice. A click and collect service has been implemented to continue some Library borrowing during this time. Please refer to the Taminim Community Library Facebook page for how this process works.

All community halls on Council’s recreation reserves are closed and unable to be booked for use.

Recreation Reserves, that is, Freds Pass, Berry Springs, Livingstone, Humpty Doo Village Green, McMinns Lagoon, Knuckey Lagoon and Howard Park, remain open but limited to outdoor use with no gatherings over 10 people and ensuring all social distancing and hygiene rules. If you are self-isolating under government instructions you CAN NOT visit the Recreation Reserves, even if you are alone. Council is currently developing and posting signs at the reserves advising the community.

Thorak Regional Cemetery remains open, however, attendance to funerals has been restricted to no more than 10 people. The Cemetery office can only have 2 customers at a time (due to size restrictions indoors allowing for social distancing rules). Restricted services are in place so please contact the Cemetery office on 8947 0903 to clarify.

Council is no longer accepting cash payments at the Waste Transfer Stations, Council office or Thorak Regional Cemetery. Debit or Credit card payments only.

Council asks the community to reconsider if they need to come into the Council office or if they can conduct their business via our website or over the phone. Contact Council on 8983 0600 to see if we can help you without you needed to leave home.

If you are feeling unwell, please stay home.

Please take care, look after yourself and your family and adhere to these restrictions to keep our community healthy and safe.

If Council becomes aware that the large gathering and social distancing restrictions are not be followed on the recreation reserves, Council may have no choice but to close them to the public until further notice.

If you are aware of anyone not adhering to the self-isolating rules that are in place for people returning to the NT, please help keep our community safe and report them by calling 131-444.
