Greetings Litchfield, or should I say season’s greetings as we head into the holiday season, the wet season, and the end of 2022.  With the lead-up to Christmas, you can always rely on the excellent and varied local produce from Freds Pass and Berry Springs Markets to fill your stocking for the little ones and the not-so-little ones too.

In local news, the Seniors versus Students program at the Taminmin Library continues to deliver excitement with the Library team winning an award for the program at the Urban Libraries ALIA (Australian Library and Information Association) NT award for 2022. On Friday the 25th of November the final Seniors versus Students program of the year is on from 10:30 am.  There is a Senior's Christmas morning tea on Friday the 9th of December at 10:30 am.

If you are looking for some more Christmas events Litchfield’s Rural Community Carols by Candlelight will be held at Bees Creek Primary School on 26 November from 5:30 pm onwards for a night of fun and singing for all.

Staying safe in the Top End also means staying cyclone safe, so make sure you keep up to date on weather warnings and home inventories over the festive season. I wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from myself, and from everyone at Litchfield Council.

See you in 2023!
