Road Network Update
Following continuing heavy rainfall over the weekend, parts of the Litchfield municipality road network have been impacted.
Please be aware of the following:
- Road closures
- Water over floodways
- Damaged road conditions.
Leonino Road at Karen Kelly Crossing, Darwin River - closed
Elizabeth Valley Road. Noonamah - closed
Old Bynoe Road at Fly Creek - closed
Reedbeds Road at Darwin River - closed due to road damage
Kentish Road, Livingstone - water over floodway
Hopewell Road, Berry Springs - water over floodway
Weaver Road, Noonamah - water over floodway
Alverly Road, Hughes - water over floodway
Brougham Road , Fly Creek - road damage between Leonino and Old Bynoe Roads
Wheewall Road, Berry Springs - water over road and road damage
Signage and temporary traffic management is in place in various locations.

Monitoring and Preparation
We’re keeping a close eye on Cyclone Narelle following an internal Emergency Management meeting on Friday, 20 March 2026.
As of today, it’s expected to pass the lower end of the Litchfield region as a tropical low around Sunday and into early next week - but conditions can change, so we’ll keep monitoring things closely.
We’re making some precautionary preparations just in case.
