I am pleased to inform the community that Council will now be holding two council meetings per month, on the first and third Thursdays of each month. It is hoped by holding two council meetings per month council response times to time sensitive business will improve, and this will also provide the community more opportunities to interact with Council. Members of the public are invited to attend the next Council Meeting which will be held 6.30pm Thursday 20th August in the Council Chambers. I am impressed with the level of resident participation in Council meetings, and hope this will continue.
Please be aware that the Bushcare Major Day Out will be held on Sunday 13th September 2015 at McMinns Lagoon Reserve. This is an excellent opportunity to get involved in your local community. For information www.bushcaresmajordayout.org

The Department of Local Government and Community Services has awarded a grant to Council of $125,095 towards replacing the roof and internal refurbishments on the Howard Springs Scout Hall at Howard Park Reserve – preparations for this project has commenced.
Council has also been successful in gaining funds under the Federal Government “Black Spot” Program for a $600,000 upgrade to the intersection of Redcliffe Road, Freds Pass Road, and Krichauff Road. This will improve the safety of the intersection by straightening Redcliffe Road and Freds Pass Road, while terminating Krichauff Road. We look forward to getting this improvement underway shortly.
